As an ID-LB Cabling Infrastructure Tech within Data Center Operations, your responsibilities will include:
- Upholding stringent security and safety best practices within the data center environment. - Executing the installation and thorough testing of both copper and fiber optic cabling. - Accurately creating and applying labels and barcodes for inventory and tracking purposes. - Operating and understanding various test equipment, such as power meters, light sources, OTDRs, VFLs, Fluke devices, network analyzers, and copper/fiber cabling testers. - Performing basic builds and troubleshooting of network devices. - Efficiently managing inventory of related materials, ensuring daily coordination of deliveries to the site. - Adhering strictly to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures. - Working comfortably in demanding environments, including noisy areas and temperature variations beyond standard office conditions. - Regularly performing tasks at heights and using ladders. - Demonstrating experience with a ticketing system for task management. - Traveling within the designated geographical work area will be required, with occasional work in confined spaces like under raised floors.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
- A technical Diploma or equivalent practical experience. - 1-2 years of experience in project management or operations planning. - 1-2 years of experience with the deployment and troubleshooting of physical network infrastructure. - 1-2 years of hands-on experience with network cabling, including both fiber optic and copper. - Proficient English language communication skills. - Basic understanding of computer hardware and network cabling principles. - A strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team, demonstrating excellent time management and the capacity to follow directions. - The physical capability to work at heights or use ladders for extended periods. - Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. - Additionally, 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, with the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds, are required. A high school or equivalent diploma is necessary.
