As an ID-LB Cabling Infrastructure Tech, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Upholding stringent security and safety best practices within the data center environment. - Performing the installation and rigorous testing of both copper and Fiber Optic cabling infrastructure. - Accurately creating and attaching labels and barcodes for asset management. - Proficiently utilizing test equipment such as power meters, light sources, OTDRs, VFLs, Fluke devices, network analyzers, and copper/fiber cabling testers. - Undertaking basic build and troubleshooting of network devices. - Managing inventory of related materials, ensuring timely delivery of all necessary components to the site. - Adhering strictly to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures. - Working effectively in challenging environments, including noisy areas and varying temperature conditions. - Regularly performing tasks at heights and from ladders. - Demonstrating experience with ticketing systems for efficient workflow management. - Being available for travel within the designated geographical work area, with occasional work in confined spaces like under raised floors.
We are seeking individuals with a strong technical aptitude and a desire to contribute to AWS's mission. The essential qualifications include:
- A technical Diploma or Graduation, or equivalent practical experience. - 1-2 years of experience in project management or operations planning. - 1-2 years of hands-on experience with physical network infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting. - 1-2 years of proven experience with network cabling, encompassing both fiber optic and copper. - Effective English language communication abilities. - Fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and network cabling principles. - A collaborative spirit, demonstrating excellent time management skills and the capacity to follow directions effectively within a team setting. - The ability to work at heights or utilize ladders for extended periods. - A keen eye for detail, consistently maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks.
Preferred qualifications that will set candidates apart include substantial experience in large-scale data center network implementations and support, a strong understanding of copper and fiber optic testing methodologies, the ability to interpret basic layout drawings and floor plans, relevant industry standard certifications (e.g., CompTIA, CITY & GUILDS Cabling cert), and prior experience in a Data Center environment involving racking and stacking equipment and cable management.
