Job description

Join NVIDIA, a leader in transforming computer graphics and AI, as a Hardware Lab Technician. This role is pivotal within our Silicon Co-Design group, focusing on end-to-end hardware setup and validation for chip programs. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our Hardware Validation Farm, requiring hands-on expertise and independent problem-solving skills.

This position offers the opportunity to manage hardware setups throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial receipt and validation to ongoing support. Your contributions will maintain technical continuity across crucial program cycles, making you a vital part of our innovation efforts.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of the full lifecycle for assigned hardware setups, including board receipt, pre-enablement checks, thermal attachment, peripheral bring-up, and sanity validation. Perform comprehensive hardware diagnostics and root cause analysis for device-under-test failures.

Execute thermal attachment procedures across various cooler configurations, ensuring reliable thermal performance. Independently manage assigned chip programs from start to finish, including issue triage, sanity runs, and detailed closure documentation. Proactively identify and implement process improvements within lab setup and validation procedures to enhance farm readiness. Prioritize and report lab safety hazards to prevent incidents and ensure a secure working environment. Collaborate effectively with Farm Engineers, Program Leads, and functional validation teams to align on requirements and manage technical escalations.

Qualifications

A Diploma/ITI, Associate's degree, or equivalent technical certification in Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field is required. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a hardware lab, server/board-level bring-up, or validation environment is essential.

Demonstrated proficiency in thermal solution attachment (heat sinks, cold plates, liquid cooling) and robust hardware troubleshooting skills are necessary. The ability to independently isolate root causes is critical. Experience supporting multiple concurrent hardware or chip validation programs with minimal supervision, including issue triage and sound technical decision-making, is expected. Familiarity with authoring closure documentation, failure analysis reports, or formal issue/bug tracking, alongside an understanding of lab safety protocols and incident reporting, is required.
