EY is seeking a skilled Senior Proofpoint L3 Operations Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for managing and enhancing our Proofpoint environment, acting as the central technical subject matter expert. Your responsibilities will encompass advanced troubleshooting of complex email delivery and security incidents, including deep-dive analysis of mail flow, TAP detections, DLP events, and email authentication failures. You will design, implement, and configure security policies, DLP rules, TAP policies, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and Secure Email Relay.

This role also involves optimizing threat detection, evaluating emerging email threats, and providing security recommendations. You'll integrate Proofpoint with M365, Exchange Online, SIEM platforms like Splunk and Sentinel, and lead root cause analysis for incidents and problems. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and provide escalation support during critical events.

We are looking for candidates with 6-10 years of experience in Cybersecurity or Messaging Security, including over 4 years of hands-on Proofpoint administration and engineering. A strong understanding of enterprise-scale email security environments is essential.

Required technical expertise includes Proofpoint functionalities, SMTP protocol analysis, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 Security Stack, email authentication frameworks, secure email gateway architecture, DNS, MX routing, API integrations, and PowerShell scripting. Knowledge of phishing protection, malware analysis, threat hunting, and incident response is also critical. Familiarity with Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, and SIEM correlation is expected.
