We are expanding our Global Payroll Operations team and seeking a Payroll Operations Specialist to support our rapidly growing international presence. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and scalability of our natively built payroll platform.
As we extend our product offerings worldwide, we require dedicated expertise in country-specific payroll operations and robust, scalable processes. This position will focus on key markets within the APAC region, specifically Australia and Singapore.
The Global Payroll Operations Specialist will manage defined payroll workflows, ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, and collaborate with various internal teams and external agencies to enhance payroll quality and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role for an individual capable of independent workload management, resolving complex payroll and compliance issues with minimal supervision, and contributing to a reliable customer and product experience across APAC.
Manage assigned payroll workflows for Australia and Singapore, encompassing statutory payments, tax filings, pension contributions, and adherence to recurring payroll deadlines.
Investigate and resolve customer, tax, filing, and compliance-related issues, escalating complex matters with comprehensive context and suggested solutions.
Liaise with relevant government agencies, including the ATO, IRAS, CPF Board, and Ministry of Manpower, as necessary.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers, government agencies, and internal partners, providing timely updates and ensuring follow-through on open cases.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Payroll Operations teams to enhance payroll accuracy, product quality, tooling, and operational workflows.
Create and maintain detailed Jira tickets, case records, audits, reconciliations, documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistent tracking, resolution, and replication of processes.
Possess 2–5 years of substantial payroll operations experience across Australia and Singapore, with proven exposure to country-specific statutory filings, payments, pensions, tax submissions, year-end procedures, and interactions with government agencies.
Demonstrated experience in managing payroll cases, customer inquiries, operational tickets, reconciliations, audits, or recurring payroll deadlines with minimal oversight.
Proven ability to resolve moderately complex payroll issues, identify root causes, and effectively escalate when specialized subject-matter or cross-functional support is required.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to keep customers, partners, and internal stakeholders thoroughly informed on status, context, and next steps.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in fast-paced payroll environments, including accurate documentation and practical SOP maintenance.
Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office for data analysis and workflow management; familiarity with Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence is advantageous.
Availability to work Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) hours, approximately 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM IST.
