Job description

Join Rippling's growing Global Payroll Operations team and play a key role in expanding our payroll platform worldwide. This position is vital for strengthening operational coverage and payroll expertise across crucial markets, ensuring the success of our integrated HR, IT, and Finance solutions.

As a Global Payroll Operations Specialist, you will be instrumental in managing payroll processes for Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Your contributions will enhance our operational efficiency and customer experience by supporting statutory payments, filings, and cross-functional partnerships.

This is a hands-on role for a proactive individual capable of independent workload management and resolving complex payroll challenges with minimal oversight. You will directly contribute to refining processes that ensure a reliable and high-quality experience for our customers and product users across the APAC region.

Responsibilities

Manage payroll operations and workflows for Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, including statutory payments, tax submissions, pension contributions, and adherence to recurring payroll deadlines. Investigate and resolve customer-related payroll issues, tax discrepancies, filing errors, and compliance concerns, escalating complex matters with thorough documentation and proposed solutions. Liaise with key government agencies such as the ATO, IRD, IRAS, CPF Board, and Ministry of Manpower as required to ensure smooth operations. Maintain clear and consistent communication channels with customers, government bodies, and internal teams, providing timely updates and ensuring open cases are resolved. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Payroll Operations teams to enhance payroll accuracy, product functionality, tooling, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Possess 2–5 years of robust payroll operations experience, specifically with a focus on Australia, New Zealand, and/or Singapore. Demonstrated experience with country-specific statutory filings, payments, pension schemes, tax submissions, year-end processes, and interactions with relevant agencies is essential. Proven ability to manage payroll cases, address customer inquiries, process operational tickets, conduct reconciliations, and meet recurring payroll deadlines with minimal supervision. Capability to effectively resolve moderately complex payroll issues, identify underlying causes, and escalate appropriately when specialized subject-matter expertise or cross-functional support is needed. Exhibit strong written and verbal English communication skills, adept at keeping customers, partners, and internal stakeholders informed about case status, context, and next steps. Maintain a high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to quality in fast-paced, time-sensitive payroll environments. This includes accurate documentation and the maintenance of practical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office for data analysis and workflow management. Familiarity with Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence is advantageous. Ability to work during Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) hours.
