In this pivotal role, you will lead the technical direction for our SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud ERP platform, driving architectural decisions and delivering robust solutions for complex finance-related business challenges. You'll operate within an Agile squad, focusing on architectural integrity, establishing best practices, and ensuring the scalability and quality of our ABAP Cloud extensibility landscape.

This position also involves mentoring junior and mid-level ABAP engineers, enhancing the team's overall technical capabilities and fostering a culture of excellence. As the technical lead, you will architect end-to-end extensibility solutions for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, meticulously balancing business complexity with SAP's Clean Core principles. You will lead solution design for intricate WRICEF objects, RAP Business Objects, and API-based integrations, prioritizing scalability, reusability, and upgrade compliance. Your role will involve evaluating and recommending the optimal extensibility approach—Key User, Developer, or side-by-side—for various scenarios, while defining and governing the technical blueprint for ABAP Cloud extensions.

You will establish and enforce ABAP development best practices, coding standards, and design patterns, leading peer code reviews to ensure adherence to Clean Core and OOP ABAP principles. Driving performance tuning at an architectural level and staying abreast of the latest SAP roadmap and extensibility capabilities will be key. Furthermore, you'll oversee the transport request strategy, perform deep-dive issue analysis, and manage job scheduling within the S/4HANA Cloud environment.

This role requires a minimum of 10 years of ABAP development experience, with at least 2-3 years specifically in S/4HANA Cloud (Public or Private Edition). A proven track record in a technical architect or lead role, with demonstrable experience owning solution design for complex ERP extensibility programs, is essential.

Key technical expertise includes CDS View modeling, Virtual Data Model (VDM) design, RAP Business Object lifecycle management (including managed and unmanaged scenarios), WRICEF object development at scale, Key User and Developer Extensibility frameworks, SAP API and Communication Scenario configuration, and BADI Framework implementation using upgrade-safe techniques. Experience with Adobe Forms in S/4HANA Cloud, Object-Oriented ABAP, Design Patterns, and job creation/monitoring in cloud environments is also critical. A strong understanding of SAP Clean Core strategy and its practical application for extensibility is mandatory.

You should possess a proven ability to set technical direction, govern standards, and influence without formal authority. Experience coaching and mentoring engineers across different seniority levels is highly valued. Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively engage both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders. This position is a full-time role located in Gurgaon, Haryana, India, offering a hybrid work model.
