Job description

Join EY and build a career that's as unique as you are. Leverage global scale, support, and an inclusive culture to become your best self. Your unique perspective is invaluable in helping EY evolve. Become part of a team that creates exceptional experiences and a better working world for everyone.

As an Associate Director in Finance Business Analysis, you'll serve as a vital finance partner to senior Finance Leaders. Your role will integrate FP&A discipline, commercial interpretation, and performance insights to empower leaders in understanding key drivers of results, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and implementing actions to enhance business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted finance partner and primary point of contact for assigned Service Line, Markets, or CBS leadership teams, delivering insights that link financial results to commercial, operational, and strategic performance drivers.

Provide high-quality weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting and insights, ensuring outputs are accurate, concise, action-oriented, and tailored to leadership decision-making needs.

Support planning, forecasting, and budgeting cycles by translating business strategy, market context, and operational assumptions into robust financial plans and practical performance targets.

Analyze revenue, margin, cost, pipeline, backlog, wins, losses, utilization, and productivity trends to identify critical risks, opportunities, and necessary corrective actions.

Conduct scenario modeling and option analysis to support leadership decisions, clearly outlining assumptions, sensitivities, trade-offs, risks, and recommended actions.

Collaborate with Finance colleagues to enhance reporting solutions, automate routine tasks, improve data quality, and increase the usability of management information.

Prepare and contribute to leadership presentations and performance reviews, using clear storytelling to transform complex financial and operational data into actionable insights.

Respond to ad hoc leadership requests with practical, commercially relevant analysis that balances speed, accuracy, and sound judgment.

Identify recurring performance themes, process gaps, and data quality issues, recommending and supporting the implementation of agreed-upon improvements across Finance and the business.

Coach and mentor junior colleagues and peers by sharing knowledge, demonstrating strong business partnering behaviors, and contributing to a higher-performing finance function.

Qualifications

Success in this role hinges on being a commercially minded finance professional who can transform complex financial, operational, and market data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and confident leadership discussions.

Key attributes include strong FP&A, financial analysis, and performance management capabilities, with the ability to connect results to business drivers, risks, and opportunities. You'll need executive communication skills to translate complex data into clear narratives and decision-ready presentations.

Demonstrate commercial curiosity and sound judgment to understand market context, service line priorities, operational levers, and the actions needed to improve performance. Build credibility to engage senior stakeholders, challenge constructively, and influence through evidence-based insights.

Possess strong technical skills in modeling, reporting, and analytical tools, with a proactive mindset towards automation, simplification, and continuous improvement. Be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed, and global environment, managing ambiguity, competing priorities, and diverse stakeholder needs.

A collaborative, ownership-driven style is essential, enabling you to build trusted relationships across Finance, Reporting CoE, GDS, and business leadership teams.

To qualify, you must hold a graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, with a relevant professional qualification being advantageous. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in FP&A, business analysis, commercial finance, management reporting, or finance business partnering within a complex organization is required.

Prove your ability to deliver performance reporting, planning support, financial analysis, and stakeholder-ready commentary that informs business decisions. Experience working directly with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, demonstrating influence through insight, judgment, and commercial understanding, is crucial. Fluency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly and professionally, is essential.
