Join Nuveen's Controllership team as a Specialist Advisor in Corporate Accounting and Billing. This mid-level role is central to our US operations, focusing on accurate financial reporting and client billing.

As a key member of the Legal Entity Controllership (LEC) team in India, you will drive essential accounting processes, including month-end close activities, management reporting, and intricate billing operations. This position offers a dynamic environment where you’ll manage daily general ledger checks, maintain critical reference data, and conduct in-depth reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities include executing the corporate accounting month-end and quarter-end close procedures in adherence to TIAA's internal guidelines and SOX controls. This involves preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, managing intercompany transactions, and conducting detailed variance analyses. You will also oversee end-to-end billing for institutional investment advisory clients, ensuring accurate revenue accounting and supporting timely receivables management. Processing client billing, calculating fees based on contractual terms, and performing true-up analyses are also core duties.

Additional responsibilities encompass recording bank transactions, ensuring balance sheet reconciliations for receivable accounts, and monitoring the aging of outstanding fees. You will prepare monthly and quarterly regulatory reports and provide essential support for internal and external audits. Furthermore, this role involves collaborating closely with Finance teams across India and the US, as well as external auditors, making strong communication skills vital. Continuous process improvement and applying critical thinking to enhance operational effectiveness and mitigate risks are also expected.

The ideal candidate possesses an MBA or Master's degree in Finance, with a mandatory CA qualification. A minimum of 7–8 years of relevant post-qualification experience is required.

Proficiency in Excel is essential. While knowledge of tools like ORMB, FCCS, PeopleSoft, Tableau, Alteryx, Oracle SmartView, EDM, and Workiva is preferable, experience with US GAAP and IFRS is highly valued.
