This role is crucial for managing a wide array of financial operations, focusing on asset management, transfer pricing, and inter-company transactions. It demands robust technical accounting expertise, particularly in IFRS, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including senior leadership.
The ideal candidate will excel at producing detailed financial reports, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering actionable insights to support strategic business decisions. This position plays a key part in maintaining accurate, compliant, and transparent financial data for all asset-related activities, serving both internal and external parties.
Key responsibilities include managing the complete accounting lifecycle for intangible assets, from capitalization to amortization and impairment testing, ensuring accurate IFRS/GAAP compliance.
This role involves recognizing revenue by charging operating companies for intangible asset usage and applying a strong understanding of transfer pricing policies for inter-company charges.
Prepare and analyze asset-related financial reports and disclosures for financial statements, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Provide support for audits and respond to inquiries.
Partner with R&D, legal, and business development teams to offer financial insights on key decisions. Collaborate with the tax team to implement tax strategies related to intellectual property and ensure transfer pricing compliance.
Assist the Global Asset team with financial forecasts and budgets for the asset portfolio, monitoring performance against budget and providing updates.
Conduct comprehensive financial and operational analysis of assets, including P&L and cash flow, to identify value creation opportunities. Develop and track KPIs for the asset portfolio, presenting findings to senior management.
A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field is required, with a strong preference for a professional accounting qualification such as CA or CMA.
This position typically requires 10-12+ years of relevant experience. Global experience working with cross-geographical teams is a distinct advantage.
Essential attributes include exceptional attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent planning and organization abilities. Familiarity with international entities, foreign currency, and inter-company transactions is important.
Demonstrated expertise in accounting standards like IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 36, and IAS 38 is essential. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems like SAP and BPC is a plus.
Candidates must be adept at dealing with individuals at all organizational levels, taking full ownership of their scope, and managing tasks in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. A solution-oriented mindset and a proactive approach are highly valued.
