As a PHP Backend Developer, your typical day involves designing, developing, and supporting robust backend and web-tier applications for leading digital media and enterprise platforms. You'll focus on building high-performance APIs, integrating cloud services, and resolving intricate production issues, all while utilizing modern technologies and methodologies.

Design, develop, and enhance scalable backend and web-tier applications using PHP 8.x. Maintain high code quality through rigorous static analysis, code reviews, and secure development practices. Integrate Java/Spring Boot microservices via REST APIs and other communication protocols. Manage cross-platform data consistency, ensuring accurate time zone handling, date/time representation, and serialization standards. Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth2 and JWT. Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in PHP backend development and application support, performing independently. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable applications.

A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant professional experience is required. Mandatory hands-on experience with PHP development in production environments, specifically with Laravel or Symfony frameworks. A minimum of 15 years of full-time education is a prerequisite for this role. Experience working with Agile and DevOps delivery environments is essential. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are crucial for success. Familiarity with cloud-native application development and modernization projects is preferred. Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies, API development, and distributed systems is desirable.
