This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll architect, develop, and deploy innovative firmware and cloud firmware solutions. You will lead a team of talented engineers, driving innovation and ensuring the delivery of products to Azure datacenters. Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge firmware and cloud firmware features that drive business value and support business growth.
Guide and influence a high-performing team of engineers, motivating them to build robust firmware solutions for cloud environments.
Engage in all stages of product development, from microarchitecture design to firmware architecture and implementation.
Develop comprehensive engineering design plans, including detailed schedules and trade-off analyses, to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of top-level objectives.
Possess 5 to 10 years of professional experience in designing and developing large-scale embedded software solutions.
Demonstrate experience with the full product lifecycle, from early-stage architecture and design of X86/X64/ARM systems to final product shipping.
Proficient in C, C++, or Rust programming languages, with advanced design, development, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Extensive experience in low-level firmware development, including bare-metal firmware for peripherals such as GPUs, CPLDs, TPMs, PCIe, I2C, eMMC, SPI, USB, and UARTs. Familiarity with memory management, scheduling, interrupts, and multi-threading is essential.
Hands-on expertise in UEFI platform development and deep knowledge of CPU architectures (2-socket, 4-socket, 8-socket, 16-socket) from Intel, AMD, or ARM.
Expertise in platform server architecture, encompassing CPUs, memory, PCI-e, NVMe, SSD/SAS, Secure Boot, UEFI, BMC, GPUs, InfiniBand, and hardware interfaces like MUX/I2C/SPI, including schematic interpretation.
A Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience is required. AI/ML experience with hardware like TPUs, Nitros, or Smart NICs is a significant advantage.
