Job description

Join Emergent, a leading AI-driven software development company, and play a pivotal role in our finance operations. We're seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to oversee our financial processes across India and US entities. This is a high-impact role where you'll manage everything from accounts payable and receivable to treasury and compliance, ensuring seamless financial operations.

As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in building robust financial processes, controls, and automation. You'll work closely with business teams, manage banking relationships, and ensure all statutory deadlines are met. If you're a proactive finance professional looking for ownership and impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, this is your opportunity.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end accounts payable, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and payment runs. Oversee employee reimbursements, corporate cards, and expense policy enforcement. Handle invoicing, collections, and reporting on receivables. Reconcile payment gateway settlements and manage daily cash positions.

Build and maintain banking relationships, manage foreign exchange conversions and inter-entity funding. Ensure compliance with India's statutory requirements (GST, TDS, PF/ESI) and coordinate US compliance matters. Track vendor payments and manage contracts. Coordinate payroll inputs and payments.

Act as the primary contact for internal teams on financial matters. Develop controls to prevent financial risks and provide support for audits and fundraising. Drive automation in procure-to-pay and collection processes. Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guide a growing team.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant with 5-7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a startup or high-growth company. You should possess strong hands-on experience in AP, AR, month-end closes, reconciliations, and vendor management.

A solid understanding of GST, TDS, FEMA, and cross-border payment regulations in India is essential. Experience with bank, treasury, and foreign exchange operations, along with proficiency in ERP systems, accounting software, and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills is required.

This role demands a strong grasp of internal controls, approval workflows, and fraud prevention. Excellent communication skills, a service-oriented mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment are crucial. We value self-starters who take ownership and are comfortable with ambiguity.
