This role focuses on leading the end-to-end data and policy conversion strategy for Life & Annuities policy administration system transformations. You will act as a vital link between business, actuarial, and technical teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and auditable migration of policy data and transaction history from legacy to target systems.

This position is key to modernizing insurance platforms and requires a deep understanding of conversion methodologies and their impact on critical business functions. You will be instrumental in driving successful system migrations.

Develop the comprehensive conversion approach, including crosswalk methodologies, data mapping standards, tolerance thresholds, and reconciliation frameworks. Author the conversion playbook, defining cutover strategies, fallback plans, and freeze-period governance. Establish data lineage documentation and maintain version-controlled mapping specifications for audit and regulatory traceability.

Translate legacy policy administration rules into target system configurations. Collaborate with actuarial, IT, and QA teams to validate converted policy values. Lead root-cause analysis for conversion issues and drive remediation efforts. Author functional specifications for field-level, transaction-level, and history conversion. Define exception handling rules for complex or non-standard policies and validate mapping specifications with SMEs.

A minimum of 9 years of experience is required, with hands-on conversion experience on at least one target PAS such as FAST, Majesco, OIPA, or FINEOS. Prior experience in at least one full PAS conversion/migration cycle is essential, covering mapping, mock conversions, parallel testing, and cutover.

Strong SQL skills and experience with data mapping/ETL concepts are necessary. You must be proficient in policy value reconciliation (cash value, reserves, COI, fund values for annuities). The ability to write field-level functional specifications, mapping documents, and test scripts to consulting-grade standards is crucial. Experience managing a pod, sprint/wave-based delivery, and reporting into a governance/PMO structure is expected. Familiarity with state insurance regulations, policyholder notification requirements, and IFRS 17/statutory reporting impacts on conversion is required.
