Capgemini
Seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to spearhead factory automation initiatives, focusing on MES, PLC, SCADA, and shopfloor solutions. This role is critical for integrating production systems, machinery, and enterprise applications within manufacturing settings. Expertise in MES or shopfloor implementation and pre-sales activities is essential.
Lead the end-to-end design of automation architectures, encompassing PLC, SCADA, MES, and edge layers. Architect robust machine connectivity, alarm management, recipe handling, and data collection frameworks. Design seamless integrations between MES and machinery using OPC UA and various industrial protocols. Drive workshops, conduct fit-gap analyses, and oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning, and hypercare.
Define critical standards for controls, network architecture, cybersecurity, redundancy, and disaster recovery. Govern integrations across ERP, MES, SCADA, and shopfloor systems. Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure successful project delivery and establish best practices for implementation.
Requires 12-15 years of experience with mandatory expertise in PLC and SCADA solution architecture and hands-on MES/shopfloor implementation. Proficiency in OPC UA, industrial communication protocols, and manufacturing execution concepts (equipment states, alarms, traceability) is a must.
Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, and deployment is crucial. Strong capabilities in solution architecture, integration design, scalability, security, and governance are expected. Pre-sales experience, including RFP/RFI responses, estimations, and customer presentations, is also a mandatory requirement.
