EY GDS Assurance is seeking a FAAS Senior/Assistant Manager specializing in Investment Accounting. Your role will involve managing the debt servicing and operations of the company’s borrowing portfolio, including foreign exchange and derivative transactions. You will oversee subledger management and reconciliation with the general ledger.

Key responsibilities include handling investment accounting for alternative assets such as private credit and real estate, and addressing automation challenges within investment processes. You will conduct detailed variance analysis and communicate findings to clients. Familiarity with investment systems like FIS, SAP, Calypso, Clearwater, BlackRock, and Treasury Management Systems (TMS) such as Reval, Kariba, and FIS Quantum is essential.

Additional duties encompass supporting securitization transactions and de-recognition assessments, ensuring accurate and high-quality deliverables, and promptly addressing ad hoc client and investor requests. You will also perform month-end close processes, develop expertise in accounting tools and applications, and highlight opportunities for improvement. A strong understanding of investment and derivative products, front-to-back office trade accounting, sector-specific knowledge (Insurance, Banking, Asset/Wealth Management), and compliance with IFRS/GAAP and statutory reporting are crucial. You will participate in proposal development and support accounting and regulatory change projects.

We require a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Audit, Controllership, or Consulting within the Banking sector, including expertise in the latest IFRS/US GAAP developments. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, supplemented by a relevant professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant, CPA, or ACCA, is necessary.

Preferred qualifications include expertise in investment systems and a deep understanding of investments and related accounting policies. Advanced skills in financial risk management (currency, interest rate), cash flow forecasting, and treasury technology are highly valued.

Candidates should possess a good grasp of IFRS/US GAAP and International Auditing Standards, with specific knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP for financial instruments. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential. Experience in large asset management firms or banking institutions is advantageous, as is prior exposure to managed services, controllership functions, or financial reporting.

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills are a must. The ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies, is also required.
