This role within EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) - Control and Compliance team focuses on providing expert advisory services. Professionals in this area assist clients with accounting changes, regulatory support, and the optimization of accounting processes and controls. The position requires a qualified professional with a strong background in Internal Financial Controls (IFC) and a deep understanding of SOX audit processes, including implementation, documentation, control testing, and evaluation for financial reporting reliability and operational efficiency.

As a key member of the SOX team, you will be instrumental in executing SOX and IFC design, walkthroughs, and implementations. Your responsibilities include conducting business process reviews, developing flowcharts and Risk Control Matrices (RCMs), and performing risk assessments to identify critical accounts and transactions. You will prepare comprehensive SOX documentation, including narratives and RACM, and rigorously test the design and operating effectiveness of controls, proposing actionable improvements. Leading SOX compliance phases, supporting audit planning and execution, and clearly communicating control deficiencies and remediation plans are also integral to this role. Furthermore, you will be accountable for strategic decision-making, process optimization, resource management, and effective team supervision to ensure task execution and performance alignment with organizational objectives.

To excel in this role, a CA/CPA/ACCA qualification is essential, complemented by 3+ years of relevant experience. A minimum of 2–7 years of hands-on experience in SOX/IFC implementation, including proficiency in RACM, control testing, and remediation, is required. A robust understanding of the COSO framework and PCAOB requirements, along with knowledge of financial statements (Indian/US GAAP), is crucial. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are paramount. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Visio, and MS Office tools is necessary. Prior experience working with international clients and with multinational consulting firms or Big4 firms is highly preferred.
