EY GDS Assurance is seeking a Senior professional to lead projects focused on accounting change and GAAP conversion for IFRS/US GAAP. Key responsibilities include managing the quality of service delivery and fieldwork progress, ensuring timely client communication and expectation management. The role involves explaining critical client success factors to the engagement team and working closely with onshore teams to deliver client work. You will apply accounting concepts and professional standards to complex client situations, identify engagement issues, and perform benchmarking. Professional judgment is essential when applying accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Coordination with technical accounting teams for research assistance on U.S. GAAP and IFRS pronouncements is crucial. Project management for transactions, including information flow and cross-functional coordination, is also a primary responsibility. Customizing presentations and working on corporate finance transactions at various stages are expected. Decision-making, process optimization, resource management, and team supervision are vital for task execution and performance evaluation.

To excel in this role, a strong understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, GAAP Conversion, and International Auditing Standards is required. You should be adept at project management within the finance function and possess skills in data analysis and research related to accounting standards. Preparing comprehensive documentation for conversion processes and effectively communicating discrepancies are key. Participation in training and professional development is encouraged to enhance knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills are essential, along with the ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues. Flexibility to travel on short notice is necessary.

Essential experience includes end-to-end GAAP conversion engagements (IFRS to US GAAP and vice versa), and implementation of new accounting standards like IFRS 15/ASC 606, IFRS 16/ASC 842, IFRS 9/ASC 825, ASC 326, and ASC 815. Experience or working knowledge of IFRS 17/ASC 944 is a significant advantage. Drafting accounting policies, technical accounting research, consolidation, and disclosure support are also expected.

Professional experience should include working in an advisory role, with skills in technical accounting matters and knowledge of significant issues. Hands-on consulting experience at a Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm is highly regarded. Qualified candidates will be Chartered Accountants (CA), CPAs (US), or ACCAs (UK) with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in Assurance, including at least 1 year of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience. An interest in business and commerciality is ideal.
