Job description

Embark on a rewarding career journey with EY, a global leader dedicated to building a better working world. As a FAAS ECRA Manager, you'll provide crucial advisory services, including technical accounting support, GAAP conversions, accounting policy guidance, and the implementation of new accounting standards for top-tier global clients. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within the EY GDS Assurance Team, collaborating with FAAS Managers and Senior Managers on engagements across Americas, EMEIA, or APAC.

EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) comprises a vast network of service delivery centers worldwide, playing a pivotal role in supporting EY's strategic growth agenda. With a history dating back to 2002, GDS has evolved into a powerhouse of over 80,000 professionals across ten global locations. Our client service focus spans Consulting, Assurance, Tax, Strategy & Transactions, and Knowledge support, enabling account teams globally to deliver exceptional client service. Enablement Services further enhances this by offering cost-effective, high-skilled, and innovative solutions to support EY's enablement teams. Our innovation specialists are instrumental in fostering an environment of rapid prototyping and creative thinking.

Responsibilities

As a FAAS ECRA Manager, your key responsibilities will encompass managing the quality of service delivery, ensuring client expectations are met through effective fieldwork direction and timely delivery of reports. You will be responsible for explaining client critical success factors to engagement teams and collaborating daily with onshore engagement teams. A strong understanding of accounting concepts, professional standards, and firm policies is essential for navigating complex client situations. You will identify and research engagement and client service issues, applying independent professional judgment to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinating with onshore technical accounting teams to research U.S. GAAP and IFRS pronouncements, and demonstrating expertise in special accounting matters and technology-driven accounting solutions are also vital. Your role will involve working on diverse corporate finance transactions, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and staying abreast of industry and regulatory practices to drive continuous improvements. You will also contribute to practice development through thought leadership, training, and business development activities.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, and UK GAAP, along with international auditing standards. Key skills include technical accounting advisory on complex topics such as business combinations, consolidations, financial instruments, and more. You will need to effectively coordinate with onshore technical accounting teams, providing research assistance on U.S. GAAP and IFRS pronouncements. Project management is crucial, ensuring seamless information flow and coordination among cross-functional team members. Experience in working on accounting matters from initial client pitches through audit closing is expected, complemented by strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing abilities. Comfort in researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations and new technologies, is essential. Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice are also required.

Professional experience should include working in an advisory role, managing teams of 10+ people, and advanced skills in technical accounting matters and whitepaper writing. Hands-on consulting experience at a Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm is highly desirable. You must hold a Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US), or ACCA (UK) qualification, with 6-10 years of post-qualification experience in Assurance, including at least 3+ years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience.
