EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Strategy and Transactions (SaT) Restructuring team. This role focuses on assisting clients facing economic shifts, competitive pressures, capital constraints, and operational challenges. You'll leverage EY's extensive global network and expertise to guide clients through complex in and out-of-court restructurings, identifying strategies for liquidity, earnings improvement, and value extraction for underperforming businesses.

As an Assistant Manager in Restructuring, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting turnaround, restructuring, and optimization projects for corporate and financial services clients. - Analyzing financial, operational, and workforce data to pinpoint performance enhancements and inform strategic choices. - Evaluating business performance, cost structures, organizational effectiveness, and operating models to identify value creation opportunities. - Developing and reviewing financial models, business plans, cash flow forecasts, and scenario analyses for transformation initiatives. - Conducting operational diagnostics, benchmarking, and root-cause assessments to identify underperformance and improvement areas. - Assisting with large-scale transformation programs, including operating model design, organization structure, workforce optimization, and cost reduction efforts. - Helping clients achieve sustainable gains in profitability, liquidity, productivity, and operational efficiency. - Performing market, industry, and competitor analysis to support strategic reviews and transaction-related assignments. - Collaborating with FSO leadership on go-to-market strategies, opportunity identification, and business development within financial institutions and distressed asset situations. - Preparing high-quality client reports, presentations, and executive recommendations while effectively managing engagement teams.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Expertise in turnaround and restructuring, performance improvement, operating model transformation, organization design, value creation, cost optimization, transaction support, or financial services transformation. - A solid understanding of financial statements, business performance drivers, profitability analysis, and operational improvement methodologies. - Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, including business case development, financial modeling, and benchmarking. - The ability to identify risks and opportunities, synthesize complex findings, and formulate practical, data-driven recommendations. - Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of successful collaboration across cross-functional and global teams. - Demonstrated capability to engage with senior client stakeholders and present complex information clearly and concisely. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities. - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive presentations and board-level materials.
Essential qualifications include a Chartered Accountancy or MBA in Finance from a premier institute, coupled with 5-7 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in management consultancy (preferably Big 4) or large Indian corporates with significant exposure to restructuring, analytics, financial modeling, and corporate finance.
