EY Parthenon Deal Management is seeking an Associate Manager to join their Standalone Costing (SAC) Centre of Excellence (CoE). This global hub specializes in delivering comprehensive standalone, stranded, and one-time cost analyses for transactions. This position is central to supporting clients through the transaction lifecycle, providing hands-on, operationally focused advice. You will be part of a dynamic team working on international business development and transactions, contributing to a better working world.
Develop and implement sophisticated standalone cost models, stranded cost models, and one-time cost projections. Apply functional cost and headcount benchmarks using external data to validate future-state assumptions. Quantify cost, dis-synergy, and entanglement risks that impact standalone EBITDA and deal valuation. Classify costs by functional heads and further detail into direct vs. allocated and headcount vs. non-headcount costs.
Collaborate with global EY teams to manage and optimize standalone projects, stranded assets, and one-time expenditures. Support business development by providing expertise in cost modelling. Mentor junior professionals and conduct performance reviews, leading by example. Identify new business opportunities and assist senior leadership with proposals. Enhance AI-driven tools for cost modelling and support continuous improvement of AI services within engagements.
A Postgraduate degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science, or a related field from a premier institution is required, along with 6-8 years of relevant industry or consulting experience. Expertise in M&A life cycle, carve-out/integration post-transaction announcement, and cross-border M&A is essential, with a specialization in standalone costs, stranded costs, and one-time costs.
Proficiency in Excel-based financial and cost modeling, with the ability to present outputs clearly in PowerPoint is crucial. Candidates must demonstrate strong financial analysis skills, linking operational details to financial statements. An understanding of corporate allocations and methodologies for replacing them is necessary. The role also requires excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills, along with a willingness to travel internationally for business needs.
