Job description

Advance your career with EY, a global leader dedicated to building a better working world. Join our Strategy and Transaction (SaT) team, specifically within the Transaction Support and Execution (TSE) division, where you'll provide hands-on, operationally focused advice throughout the transaction lifecycle. We support clients with divestitures, carve-outs, operational due diligence, synergy assessments, integration planning, and cost optimization.

This Associate Manager role offers a unique opportunity to work on international transactions and business development projects. You'll engage with clients and EY offices worldwide, leveraging your expertise to drive successful outcomes. Become part of a supportive and inclusive culture, where continuous learning and development are paramount.

Responsibilities

Lead project execution with excellence in synergy assessment, standalone costing, and problem-solving. Foster strong relationships with global EY offices, ensuring high user satisfaction with engagement processes and deliverables. Develop comprehensive work products that document engagement procedures against objectives.

Spearhead carve-out and integration projects, proactively identifying areas for enhancement and resolving complex issues. Conduct in-depth industry, sector, and deal analysis to pinpoint strategic opportunities. Manage client engagement teams, guiding them in executing TSE services that support key decision-makers in transaction strategy and value realization.

Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of TSE professionals, conducting timely performance reviews and fostering professional growth through effective feedback and training. Lead by example, embodying EY's commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

We are seeking Associate Managers with demonstrated expertise in the M&A lifecycle, including post-announcement business carve-outs/integrations and cross-border M&A. A strong foundation in financial analysis from pre- and post-deal transactions is essential, with the ability to connect detailed operational analysis to P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet impacts.

Ideal candidates possess in-depth sector and company knowledge, applying the EY Capital Agenda approach. You should excel at identifying risks and opportunities, synthesizing solutions for complex carve-out and integration challenges, and adapting swiftly to new concepts. Exceptional problem-solving, project management, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are crucial, alongside strong written and verbal communication abilities.

This role requires a postgraduate degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, or a related field from a premier institute, complemented by 7-10 years of relevant industry and/or consulting experience. Techno-functional professionals with hands-on experience in Finance & Accounting and ERP/BI systems are highly valued for their ability to undertake accounting, reporting, and financial analysis tasks within transaction and transformation engagements. You must be adept at understanding business requirements and proposing suitable financial systems.
