Lead engineering teams responsible for building and scaling critical systems that power reservations, pricing, fleet allocation, and customer identity across global, multi-brand environments. You will operate within a high-volume, transaction-intensive ecosystem, ensuring exceptional reliability and performance aligned with business objectives.

This role involves close collaboration with Product, Architecture, QA, and Operations to transform complex requirements into robust, API-driven, and resilient engineering solutions. Responsibilities include overseeing sprint execution, reviewing code and architecture, resolving production incidents, and fostering engineering best practices.

Platform modernization is a key aspect, including migrating legacy systems to cloud-native, microservices architectures, enhancing observability, and strengthening CI/CD pipelines. You will also dedicate significant time to mentoring engineers and Tech Leads, guiding technical direction, managing delivery risks, and ensuring team alignment while balancing immediate needs with long-term platform evolution.

Oversee the design and development of scalable backend systems and microservices, defining architecture and selecting optimal technologies.

Take ownership of end-to-end software project delivery, from initial requirements through testing and deployment, coordinating multiple workstreams for timely completion.

Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, conduct performance reviews, support career development, and cultivate high-performing teams.

Collaborate with product management, frontend, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and deliver features comprehensively.

Champion best practices in code quality, security, performance, and maintainability, including rigorous code reviews, testing standards, and CI/CD integration.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production, leading root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Actively participate in sprint planning, design discussions, and architectural decisions, carefully balancing technical trade-offs for extensibility, reliability, and scalability.

Manage project risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications, providing regular status updates and proactively addressing any obstacles.

Define and enforce QA and testing standards, partnering with QA leads to integrate automated and manual testing throughout the development lifecycle.

Adopt and advocate for modern development methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, cloud platforms), incorporating emerging technologies (AI tools, mobile frameworks) as appropriate.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.

Possess over 10 years of software engineering experience with a demonstrable history of building intricate, distributed systems.

Exhibit strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java) and frameworks like Spring, coupled with a deep understanding of the JDK/JVM and microservices principles.

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of API development (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), database design (SQL/NoSQL), and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) is essential.

Show practical experience in QA/test automation, including proficiency with frameworks like JUnit, Selenium, WebDriver, Cucumber, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Maintain a solid grasp of design patterns (SOLID, DDD, hexagonal), distributed architectures, and performance tuning techniques.

Possess excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across various teams and functions.

Previous experience working within Agile development methodologies and utilizing tools such as JIRA is expected.
