Join Emergent as an Engineering Manager, QA, and lead our Quality Assurance function. You'll strengthen testing practices and ensure consistent product quality across our AI-native platform, which empowers users to build software with AI. This fast-paced environment prioritizes product quality, customer experience, and rapid releases.

We seek a leader with strong QA fundamentals, exceptional people management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering and Product teams. Your role will involve building a high-performing QA team, establishing robust testing processes, proactively identifying risks, and fostering a culture where quality is a shared responsibility.

Drive the overall QA strategy and testing approach for product features and releases, defining test plans, scenarios, and coverage expectations based on product risks. Ensure comprehensive functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing are executed. Identify quality risks early in requirement discussions and guarantee adequate test coverage before development completion.

Own QA sign-off, clearly communicating release risks to stakeholders and driving defect triage, prioritization, and root cause analysis. Monitor defect leakage and production issues, implementing preventive actions. Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to make informed release decisions, balancing timelines with quality and customer impact.

Lead, mentor, and develop QA engineers, fostering their testing skills, product understanding, and ownership. Set clear expectations, goals, and performance standards, conducting regular feedback and career development discussions. Hire and onboard new QA talent as the organization grows, allocating resources based on product priorities and release commitments.

Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to ensure testable requirements and early identification of quality risks. Participate in feature planning, requirement reviews, and release discussions, ensuring QA involvement throughout the development lifecycle. Improve team execution by addressing process bottlenecks and reducing unnecessary testing delays.
