Join the Looker Control Plane team at Google Cloud to architect and manage the core infrastructure for Looker's global multi-cloud environment. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of Looker instances across GCP, from billing and resource provisioning using Terraform to orchestrating multi-region GKE deployments.

You will tackle high-impact projects, including consumption-based billing, autoscaling, intricate networking security, provisioning AI resources, managing instance lifecycles, and developing scalable delivery platforms via One Platform APIs. Lead the resolution of complex, open-ended problems, such as architecting next-generation billing systems, designing multi-region disaster recovery strategies, and facilitating cloud-to-cloud migrations.

Demonstrate leadership across multiple groups, effectively navigating competing priorities, influencing system designs beyond your immediate team, and partnering closely with product management for cohesive project execution.

Collaborate intimately with product management and cross-functional stakeholders to translate the product vision into a concrete technical roadmap, prioritizing key deliverables and ensuring the successful implementation of intricate projects.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Possess at least 8 years of software development experience, proficiency in languages such as Python, C++, Java, Go, or JavaScript is essential.

Include a minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership capacity, overseeing projects, complemented by 2 years in people management, supervision, or team leadership.

Demonstrate hands-on experience leading engineering teams that work with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, alongside experience in building, scaling, and maintaining distributed systems and multi-cloud infrastructure.
