Join our dynamic Trust and Safety team as an Engineering Analyst focused on Account Security. This role is at the forefront of safeguarding Google accounts and products against compromise, scaled abuse, and emerging threats.

You'll be at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI, instrumental in designing and implementing robust abuse prevention mechanisms. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your analytical and technical expertise to solve complex challenges on a global scale in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Leverage large-scale data analysis to uncover how attackers compromise Google accounts and exploit them for abuse, pinpointing system vulnerabilities.

Develop and implement policies and interventions within Google's sign-up, sign-in, and re-authentication processes to prevent unauthorized access and account misuse, ensuring a balance between security and user experience.

Design and conduct experiments, such as A/B tests, to quantitatively assess the impact of new policies, features, and challenges on reducing abuse and user friction.

Continuously refine our interventions for enhanced detection and automation. Explore opportunities to integrate LLM capabilities and agentic tools for task automation.

Collaborate closely with the broader team, Product Management, and Engineering to identify, prioritize, and develop strategies against the most critical and novel threats.

Qualifications

Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and deriving insights from quantitative and qualitative data.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in managing projects, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
