As an Engineering Analyst Manager, you will lead a dynamic team focused on combating adversarial actors within Google Ads. Your leadership in data science and fraud detection will drive AI transformation, developing scalable solutions to defend against complex threats like malware and cloaking. You will collaborate closely with Ads Safety, AP Engineering, and gTech to design defense-in-depth strategies, balancing user safety with a smooth advertiser experience. Key responsibilities include leading the development of advanced AI clustering models, establishing robust evaluation frameworks for Agentic AI, and pioneering rigorous false-negative measurement techniques. You will also oversee the training of next-generation AI Agents and ML models, advocate for site-wide AI upskilling, and enhance defensive capabilities to stay ahead of evolving adversaries.

Direct and guide a high-performing team of Engineering Analysts, championing AI transformation, operational excellence, and strategic execution against adversarial fraud.

Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Legal teams to build comprehensive Defense in Depth strategies that bolster user safety and fortify the Google Ads ecosystem against emerging threats.

Spearhead the development of AI-driven enforcement capabilities designed to proactively combat abuse at scale. Establish advanced evaluation frameworks for the AI era, pioneering rigorous measurement methodologies and overseeing programs for training next-generation AI agents and ML Models focused on fraud detection.

Lead in-depth investigations into complex Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to facilitate actor tracking and dismantle organized fraud rings targeting Google Ads.

Work closely with sales leadership to architect and implement streamlined recovery processes for advertisers affected by policy enforcement, carefully balancing the mitigation of user harm with the optimization of advertiser experience.

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is essential.

This role requires 7 years of experience in developing technical strategies and implementing data-driven solutions. This includes substantial experience building and managing multi-tiered policy enforcement systems.

Additionally, 3 years of people management experience is necessary, focusing on mentoring analytical and technical teams such as data scientists and engineering analysts in applied AI.

Proven ability to translate data analyses and identify emerging abuse trends into actionable business strategies for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership, is critical.

Preferred qualifications include 10 years of experience in technical strategy and executing data-driven solutions at scale, with a strong background in managing complex, multi-tiered policy enforcement systems.

A solid understanding of machine learning lifecycles, human-in-the-loop workflows, precision/recall metrics, and model drift is beneficial. The ability to confidently assess vendor technical architectures and scale AI-driven defenses is highly valued.

Excellent communication skills are required to articulate complex technical issues clearly to diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making across various roles. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic environment, are also essential.
