Join our dynamic Enabling Areas – Information Technology team as a Deputy Manager, Data Scientist specializing in NLP and Generative AI. This role focuses on enhancing the employee experience within Deloitte South Asia by building and maintaining innovative applications.

We are seeking a skilled professional to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge NLP algorithms and models. You will leverage machine learning and deep learning techniques to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of textual data.

The position involves rigorous data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation to ensure accuracy and robustness. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate NLP solutions into production systems and applications.

Key responsibilities include designing and developing state-of-the-art NLP algorithms and models using machine learning and deep learning.

Preprocess and clean textual data, performing feature engineering to extract relevant insights and representations. Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and statistical techniques.

Integrate NLP solutions into production systems and applications, collaborating with software engineers and product managers. Stay abreast of the latest research in NLP and Gen AI, applying cutting-edge methodologies to real-world problems.

Analyze and visualize results from NLP models to extract actionable recommendations, effectively communicating complex information to stakeholders.

A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required.

We are looking for a minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on NLP and 2 years on Gen AI. Strong knowledge of NLP techniques, algorithms, and proficiency in Python or R are essential.

Familiarity with libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and data visualization tools is expected. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), basic ML-Ops, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration in cross-functional teams. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
