Join our team as an Emulation Engineer, where you will be instrumental in validating sophisticated hardware designs and accelerating software testing before product launch. This role involves configuring and managing advanced emulation platforms like Zebu, Veloce, and Palladium.
Your contributions will be crucial in ensuring the emulated system precisely matches the behavior of the final product. You will also collaborate with design and verification teams to enhance performance and shorten the time-to-market for complex chip designs.
As an Emulation Engineer, you will develop and maintain functional simulation models for IP-level and full-system platforms using Simics.
Key responsibilities include: - Executing firmware, drivers, and operating systems on virtual platforms to validate hardware functionality prior to tape-in. - Isolating failures to software, firmware, or hardware models using Simics features like checkpoints, reverse execution, and scripting. - Analyzing and optimizing simulation performance and efficiency. - Automating simulation runs, regressions, and test scenarios using Python and Simics scripting. - Collaborating with RTL designers, architects, and software teams to verify system-level functionality.
We are seeking an Emulation Engineer with a strong background in pre-silicon verification, simulation, or emulation, ideally with 4-6 years of relevant experience.
Essential qualifications include: - Proven hands-on experience with Intel Simics or comparable virtual platform technologies (e.g., QEMU, SystemC). - A deep understanding of computer architecture, including CPUs, memory controllers, and IO protocols, along with operating system concepts. - Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting, and C/C++ for modeling. - Expertise in using debuggers such as GDB or the Simics Debugger, with the ability to analyze low-level software/hardware interactions. - A requirement of 15 years of full-time education is stipulated.
