As a Test Engineer / Test Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of embedded products and software-intensive automation systems. You'll collaborate closely with development, hardware, and quality assurance teams within an Agile framework to validate products throughout the entire development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include performing functional and embedded product testing in Agile settings, designing and maintaining automated test scripts, and executing both manual and automated tests on simulators and target systems. You will define test scope, coverage, and execution strategies for test campaigns, validating software implementations against specified requirements and design documents. Supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing activities using Jenkins, and meticulously reporting, tracking, and managing defects using enterprise quality management tools are also core aspects of this role. Furthermore, you will investigate test failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams for effective resolution, alongside conducting hardware-functional validation and system-level testing. Support for installation, integration, and commissioning activities for embedded products, ensuring overall system quality, reliability, stability, and performance, is expected.
This role requires a BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, or a related field. You should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Embedded Product Testing and Test Automation. A strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance practices is essential, along with proven experience in testing embedded systems and software-intensive industrial products. Familiarity with automation testing frameworks and test environments, coupled with experience using Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, is necessary. A good grasp of electronics fundamentals and the ability to interpret electrical schematics is also important. Experience with requirement management, configuration management, and defect tracking processes will be beneficial.
