This Director role focuses on shaping and advancing the enterprise Order Management Systems (OMS) technology strategy and architecture.
Key responsibilities include defining a multi-year transformation roadmap and establishing robust architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices. The focus is on creating scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions.
This position will lead crucial modernization efforts across Distributed Order Management (DOM), omnichannel fulfillment, inventory visibility, customer order orchestration, and returns management. Collaboration with various business and technical teams is essential to translate business goals into effective OMS solutions.
Drive the enterprise OMS technology strategy and architecture vision, creating a multi-year transformation roadmap. Establish architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for scalable, secure, and resilient OMS solutions. Lead modernization initiatives for DOM, omnichannel fulfillment, inventory visibility, order orchestration, and returns management. Partner with Business, Product, Supply Chain, Store Operations, Digital Commerce, and Engineering teams. Oversee architecture reviews, solution design, technology evaluations, and platform selection for OMS and integrations. Lead enterprise integration architecture across OMS, ERP, WMS, TMS, CRM, eCommerce, POS, and marketplace ecosystems. Champion cloud adoption, API-first, event-driven integration, microservices, and platform modernization. Provide strategic leadership and foster architecture governance and engineering excellence. Influence executive stakeholders with technology roadmaps and strategic recommendations. Support practice growth through consulting, solutioning, innovation, and advisory engagements.
A minimum of 15–20 years of experience in technology leadership roles within Retail, eCommerce, Supply Chain, or Order Management is required.
Deep expertise in Order Management Systems (OMS), Distributed Order Management (DOM), and omnichannel commerce architecture is essential.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise OMS transformation, modernization, and architecture initiatives, along with hands-on design of enterprise-scale integrations using modern architectural patterns.
Strong knowledge of defining target-state architecture, governance, technology standards, and modernization strategies, coupled with experience in cloud platforms and related technologies.
Familiarity with leading OMS platforms and Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF is highly valued.
Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, strategic planning, executive communication, and decision-making skills are critical. Experience in large-scale digital commerce transformations and consulting-led programs is preferred.
