Lead and cultivate multiple software engineering teams, including managers and senior technical staff. Define engineering direction aligned with product priorities, architectural standards, and operational excellence. Ensure successful delivery across a portfolio of services, expertly balancing customer commitments, technical investments, risk management, and resource capacity. Foster an inclusive and accountable engineering culture through strategic hiring, dedicated coaching, robust succession planning, and comprehensive career development initiatives. Collaborate effectively with Product Management, Architecture, Operations, Security, and other dependent programs to resolve priorities and mitigate delivery risks. Establish clear, measurable standards for quality, automation, release readiness, reliability, and continuous improvement. Provide clear and concise communication of portfolio status, identified risks, strategic trade-offs, and key decisions to senior leadership.
Demonstrated experience leading managers and multiple software engineering teams is essential. Proficiency with large-scale, highly available platforms and modern software engineering practices is required. A solid working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, cloud-native delivery, CI/CD, and observability is necessary. The ability to translate business strategy into actionable engineering plans and organizational priorities is crucial. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, is required. Experience in Agile delivery environments and across the full software development lifecycle is expected. Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are vital. The capacity to work effectively with globally distributed teams across product, engineering, architecture, operations, and business functions is important. Prior experience managing two or more software development teams is required. Proven experience leading complex technology solutions from concept through design, delivery, and production adoption is necessary. Experience building resilient, operable solutions with operational readiness integrated from the outset of development is important. People management experience, including performance management, conflict resolution, coaching, and career development planning, is essential. Domain knowledge in payments or financial services is preferred.
