This leadership role focuses on developing enterprise security and dispute resolution products. You will provide strategic direction, manage projects and releases, and oversee development teams. Essential skills include strong project management, technical acumen, interpersonal communication, and people leadership. The position requires extensive knowledge of development lifecycle best practices and experience leading development teams.
You will recommend strategic changes, drive implementations, and champion a customer-first approach. Collaboration with developers and stakeholders is key to defining project scope, achieving objectives, and supporting customers.
Provide technical leadership and direction to a software development team throughout the entire product delivery lifecycle (PDLC). Cultivate a high-performing team by hiring, coaching, mentoring, and appraising staff, while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Operations, and cross-program teams to ensure alignment with organizational and program objectives.
Ensure product development effectively meets Mastercard's business needs and that teams adhere to standard development methodologies, technology standards, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Establish and monitor departmental and staff objectives in line with strategic goals. Lead significant cross-departmental initiatives with long-term business implications.
Partner with business units to identify innovative solutions and influence strategic decisions. Develop business cases aligned with Mastercard's objectives, actively seeking opportunities for innovation and creative problem-solving. Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making. Recommend technology selections and strategic technical directions.
Spearhead the implementation of evolving organizational processes and supporting tools. Identify process gaps, provide solution estimates, define initial project scope and requirements, and manage scope throughout the project lifecycle, aligning with time-to-market needs. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and architects to ensure technical and functional alignment, leveraging expertise in areas like Java/J2EE, Springboot, Kubernetes, CI/CD, event-driven architecture, microservices, and GenAI.
Ensure adequate project staffing, training, and management, verifying personnel possess the appropriate skills and behaviors. Communicate performance results effectively and manage efforts within approved manpower and budget. Foster high team morale. Oversee strategic and financial planning, administration, and departmental management. Address operational and business concerns for future programs, projects, or enhancements to ensure consistent delivery of quality services. Manage budgets and resources effectively.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technology field, or equivalent practical work experience is required. Prior experience in the Payments Industry is recommended.
Demonstrated ability to hire, lead, and manage senior technical contributors and management staff, fostering open communication across organizational levels. Technical proficiency is essential, including expertise in architecture (e.g., event-driven, microservices, pipe-filter), Java/J2EE, Springboot, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Gen/Agentic AI.
You will need strong technical and people management skills to lead, appraise, and motivate direct and indirect reports, ensuring superior results. Provide functional, technical, and directional guidance to staff, and recommend policy and strategic direction changes to management. Possess exceptional people management capabilities to hire, coach, mentor, and appraise while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment toward organizational and program objectives.
Manage financials for multiple projects and programs. Exhibit the ability to interact across multiple organizational levels, assume a lead role, and set direction for large or complex projects. Strong analytical, technical, planning, and communication skills are crucial. Possess a deep understanding of software methodologies and their technical and functional limitations. A high-energy, can-do attitude, and a strong desire to succeed in a collaborative environment are essential.
