Rippling is seeking a senior engineering leader to establish and spearhead our Spend organization in Bangalore. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to be a foundational leader, building a world-class engineering hub from the ground up.

You will lead the Accounting Integrations team, responsible for developing the core platform that powers Rippling’s finance suite, including corporate cards, reimbursements, travel, and accounting automation. This is a 0 to 1 scale role with significant impact and growth potential.

As the Site Lead in Bangalore, you will set a high standard for product and engineering execution across reimbursements, travel, and accounting integrations. You will be instrumental in building the Bangalore hub by hiring, leveling, and growing a team of over 25 engineers and managers, establishing essential operational rituals, on-call rotations, quality standards, and velocity tracking.

Directly leading the Accounting Integrations team, you will define the technical roadmap and delivery plan for a critical integrations platform serving both Spend and Payroll. Your focus will be on shipping the next wave of general availability integrations and establishing repeatable pipelines, operational tooling, and a high-quality bar for integration delivery.

You will raise the execution bar by diagnosing churn, clarifying requirements, and driving PR/Design quality. This involves ensuring teams deliver the right solutions efficiently. You will manage both junior engineering managers and individual contributors, mentoring them and transitioning scope as leaders mature. Building robust support and observability for integrations, including routing, retries, idempotency, reconciliation, data quality, and SLAs, will be key. You'll also partner closely with Product, Design, GTM, and Finance Ops to prioritize impact, measure outcomes, and iterate rapidly. Establishing reusable contracts, SDKs, tooling, and CI/CD standards to accelerate new integration delivery is essential. Furthermore, you will embody site leadership by setting clear goals, running calibrations, addressing underperformance swiftly, and modeling hands-on, detail-oriented leadership.

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader with at least 5 years of experience, including a minimum of 2 years managing managers or large multi-team groups. Proven success in 0 to 1 initiatives and scaling platforms or integrations with high reliability and throughput is essential.

Candidates should possess strong technical depth in distributed systems, APIs, webhooks, and data modeling, with a demonstrated ability to review designs and pull requests. An operational mindset, evident in building systems with comprehensive monitoring, alerting, rate limits, retries, reconciliation, and clear SLOs/SLAs, is highly valued.

Exceptional people leadership skills are required, including a track record of hiring top talent, accurate leveling, running calibrations, and managing performance with candor and speed. A strong product sense is crucial, enabling you to translate ambiguous requirements into tangible, high-quality outcomes while balancing speed and quality.

Experience with accounting/ERP systems, travel content providers, or financial data flows is considered a plus. This role is based in Bangalore, India, and may require a hybrid work arrangement.
