This Director, Cloud Infrastructure role is pivotal in advancing our cloud platform capabilities. You will lead a high-performing technical team focused on building, scaling, and operating robust cloud solutions across AWS and Azure. Your leadership will drive the creation of repeatable cloud patterns, enhance delivery efficiency, and mitigate implementation risks within Mastercard Services.
Your responsibilities will encompass owning the cloud platform roadmap, setting strategic priorities, and ensuring successful execution of product deliverables. This position demands deep technical expertise in areas like provisioning, infrastructure as code, networking, Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD, policy as code, security, and cloud governance. Crucially, it requires the leadership acumen to translate complex infrastructure needs into secure, reliable, and reusable platform capabilities.
Lead a technical team dedicated to delivering secure, scalable, and well-governed cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. Define and execute a compelling cloud platform roadmap, setting priorities and driving product deliverables.
Develop and implement reusable cloud patterns, infrastructure as code modules, governance guardrails, and platform standards to accelerate team velocity and ensure safety. Drive complex cloud initiatives by dissecting technical challenges, clarifying objectives, removing obstacles, and ensuring accountability for results.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Security, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, Finance, and vendors to deliver enterprise-scale cloud-first infrastructure solutions. Apply FinOps and cloud governance best practices to enhance cost transparency, consumption discipline, risk management, and accountability across all cloud platforms.
Lead technical discussions with clarity and conviction, translating intricate infrastructure trade-offs into actionable recommendations for both engineering and business stakeholders. Review infrastructure designs, challenge assumptions, identify risks, and propose enhancements for scalability, security, resiliency, automation, and readiness.
A proven track record of leading technical cloud infrastructure teams in building, operating, and optimizing enterprise-scale cloud platforms is essential. A strong hands-on understanding of AWS and Azure technologies, encompassing cloud provisioning, scaling patterns, infrastructure automation, and operational reliability, is required.
Possess deep knowledge of networking fundamentals, cloud connectivity, routing, segmentation, resiliency, and secure integration between cloud platforms and enterprise environments. Experience in defining and implementing cloud governance models, infrastructure standards, controls, guardrails, and reusable patterns that enable teams to move rapidly and securely.
Demonstrated ability to break down complex technical problems into clear options, recommendations, and execution plans understandable to engineering and business stakeholders. Proven experience owning technical roadmaps, setting priorities, and driving execution against product deliverables in collaboration with product, engineering, and platform teams.
Comfortable leading technical discussions, challenging assumptions, driving alignment, and making assertive decisions within ambiguous environments. Ability to review infrastructure and architecture designs, ask probing technical questions, surface risks, and provide clear recommendations to enhance delivery quality and platform outcomes. Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as GitOps, Kubernetes, CI/CD, policy as code, and Agile methodologies for delivering secure, repeatable, and automated infrastructure capabilities.
Experience supporting vendor evaluations and negotiations, assessing technical trade-offs, commercial terms, service commitments, and long-term platform value. Ability to scale and lead teams across geographies, work effectively across time zones, motivate, coach, develop, and challenge team members to elevate technical standards and improve execution discipline.
