Join our team as a Cost Accountant, a crucial role overseeing all cost and inventory accounting functions. This position demands exceptional analytical capabilities, hands-on ERP system experience, and a deep understanding of costing principles. You will work closely with finance, supply chain, and IT departments to ensure precise reporting, adherence to US GAAP, and robust support for strategic business decisions.

This role offers a hybrid work model, combining in-office collaboration during the second and third weeks of each month with remote work flexibility during the first and fourth weeks. We are seeking a dedicated individual eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Manage comprehensive cost and inventory activities, including Purchase Price Variance (PPV), freight accruals, inventory reserves, capitalized variances, and absorption costing.

Execute monthly close procedures for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and inventory valuation, reconciling sub-ledgers to the general ledger and analyzing significant variances.

Maintain and ensure the accuracy of item costing data, cost components (material, labor, overhead), and associated GL mappings, guaranteeing compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.

Oversee costing methodologies for items such as Standard Cost, Actual Cost, and Moving Average, configuring cost rollups and variance tracking mechanisms.

Validate and cleanse master data, including items, Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, suppliers, and primary data attributes, to guarantee the integrity of cost and inventory reporting.

Develop and maintain insightful reports and dashboards covering inventory health, gross margin by product, cost variances, turnover metrics, stockouts, and obsolescence.

Conduct regular in-depth analysis of inventory valuation and cost components to pinpoint opportunities for optimization and cost reduction initiatives.

Provide essential data, detailed explanations, and process narratives to support internal and external audits related to costing and inventory.

Collaborate effectively with IT and Analytics teams on data models, data quality improvements, and business intelligence reporting requirements.

Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations for inventory and associated cost accounts, ensuring financial statement accuracy.

Demonstrated experience with major ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Baan, Lawson, Mapics, or OneStream.

A strong foundation in costing concepts and inventory valuation techniques is essential.

Possess sharp analytical skills, advanced proficiency in Excel (including lookups, pivot tables, and dashboard creation), and a working knowledge of SQL or similar data querying tools. Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.

Solid understanding of various costing methods (Standard, Actual, Moving Average) and inventory valuation principles.

Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, cycle counting procedures, and reconciliation processes.

Exceptional attention to detail is required to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

Exhibit strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, with preference given to candidates holding a CA, CMA, or CPA qualification.
