Shape the future of rental systems by designing and evolving complex distributed architectures. This role focuses on modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native, microservices-based, and event-driven platforms that support multi-brand, multi-country operations. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate business needs into scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.

Lead architecture discussions, review designs, and define API contracts. Drive the adoption of best practices in observability, fault tolerance, and CI/CD. Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and ensure platform consistency while balancing immediate delivery with long-term strategic goals. Define and own end-to-end architecture for Rental (RAC) and Digital platforms, including backend services, APIs, and frontend integrations. Design and implement cloud-native architectures using microservices, serverless, and distributed systems. Establish and govern API-first design principles and integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, event streaming). Drive adoption of event-driven architecture (Kafka or equivalent) for scalable, loosely coupled systems.

Lead architecture for key platform capabilities like reservations, pricing, fleet management, customer identity, and mobile booking. Ensure systems are built for high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and performance. Define standards for security, compliance, and data governance. Collaborate with engineering teams through design and code reviews, providing hands-on technical guidance. Guide adoption of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability tools. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and frameworks aligned with platform strategy. Partner with Enterprise Architecture for broader technology alignment. Leverage AI for development, automation, and intelligent system design.

Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, coupled with 10-15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture. Demonstrate proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems. Showcase strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, backend architectures, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices, and event-driven systems.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable) is essential. Possess a strong understanding of system design principles, data modeling, database technologies (SQL/NoSQL), and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.). Familiarity with frontend and mobile integration patterns (React, React Native preferred) is beneficial. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes), is required.

Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs. Excellent communication skills are necessary for influencing across teams and stakeholders. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with globally distributed teams is expected. Familiarity with security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, Zero Trust concepts) and enthusiasm for applying AI in architecture and development are key. Deep knowledge of JVM internals, advanced concurrency, and the Spring Ecosystem (MVC, Boot, Cloud, Security, AI) is also crucial.
