EY Consulting Digital Engineering is seeking skilled Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to drive enterprise transformation at the forefront of technology. This senior role merges product engineering, platform architecture, AI solutions, and client value delivery, demanding deep technical expertise and strong consulting abilities.

As an FDE, you will collaborate directly with clients to build and scale AI-first digital solutions that accelerate business outcomes. You will be pivotal in translating complex business challenges into effective Product Delivery Lifecycle (PDLC) solutions, rapidly moving from proof-of-concepts to robust enterprise platforms. Integrating generative AI, data, and cloud-native engineering into core business processes will be a key focus, driving future-ready digital engineering capabilities.

Your primary responsibilities include partnering with clients to define business problems and design solution hypotheses aligned with PDLC. You will lead co-creation workshops, rapid prototyping, and outcome-driven solution design, translating ambiguous requirements into scalable engineering constructs. Delivering end-to-end solutions from discovery and POCs to enterprise-scale rollouts, while anchoring business value realization through metrics like cycle time reduction and cost efficiency, is crucial.

You will engineer AI-first, cloud-native applications and platforms using modern practices, developing reusable accelerators and patterns. Working with APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and composable architectures, you will integrate GenAI copilots and automation into enterprise workflows, ensuring engineering excellence in performance, scalability, and security.

Furthermore, you will apply cutting-edge capabilities in Generative AI, data platforms, cloud-native engineering, and automation. Evaluating and industrializing new tools, frameworks, and accelerators within Digital Engineering, and contributing to future-readiness initiatives, will also be part of your role. You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams, providing technical leadership and influencing architecture and delivery direction. Leading CI/CD, DevSecOps, and production rollout strategies, troubleshooting complex production issues, and driving continuous optimization through telemetry are also key duties.

To excel in this role, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with over 5 years of experience in digital/product engineering, solution architecture, or customer-facing engineering roles. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar languages are essential.

You must have hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP, and a solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures. Significant exposure to data engineering, pipelines, and modern data platforms is also necessary. Proven experience in client-facing engagements or consulting-driven delivery models is a prerequisite for this position.
