We are seeking skilled Data Centre Operation Technicians to contribute to expanding AWS Cloud offerings. As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be instrumental in the maintenance and upkeep of our data center infrastructure. Your duties will encompass server rack installation, hardware break-fix on various components, and troubleshooting network issues. You will also be expected to respond to emergent situations impacting operational stability.
This role involves serving as a primary contact point for internal teams like Network Engineers and Software Developers, as well as external partners such as Hardware Vendors. You will manage trouble tickets, adhere to SLAs, and act as the first line of support for hardware troubleshooting.
Key responsibilities include performing on-call duties, participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities, and monitoring data center infrastructure. You will contribute to team meetings for metric analysis and goal achievement, and document technical issues through root cause analysis, driving process improvement initiatives within the data center environment. More experienced technicians may also mentor junior team members.
To excel in this role, a minimum of 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, along with at least 1 year of computer networking experience, is essential. A Bachelor's degree is also a requirement.
We are looking for individuals with a passion for technology and a commitment to maintaining operational stability. The role involves physical tasks, including lifting and racking equipment up to 18kg, and may require working in confined or elevated spaces while strictly adhering to health and safety guidelines. This position operates on a 24x7 shift rotation.
While not mandatory, experience in effectively handling customer interactions during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure would be advantageous.
