As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be a key member of the Operations team, focusing on the maintenance and upkeep of data center infrastructure. Responsibilities include server rack installation, hardware break-fix for various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to emergent situations to maintain operational stability.
You will serve as a primary contact for internal teams like Network Engineers and Software Developers, as well as external partners such as Hardware Vendors and Contractors. This role involves meeting SLAs for assigned trouble tickets, acting as the first line of support for hardware and technical issues, and participating in 24x7 shift rotations.
Additional duties include performing on-call duties, handling scheduled maintenance and change management, contributing to metric analysis in team meetings, and ensuring adherence to departmental policies, safety, and security procedures. You will also contribute to documentation through root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives within the data center environment. More experienced technicians may mentor less experienced team members.
We are seeking skilled individuals passionate about technology to help us advance AWS Cloud offerings. This role requires at least 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, along with 1+ year of computer networking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
This position has a physical component, including the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 18kg. It may involve working in confined or elevated spaces while strictly adhering to health and safety guidelines. The role requires participation in a 24x7 shift rotation to cover all operational needs.
While not strictly required, experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure is considered advantageous.
