As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be integral to the maintenance and upkeep of critical data center infrastructure. Your responsibilities include server rack installation, hardware break-fix across various components, and effective troubleshooting of network issues. You will also respond to emergent situations to maintain operational stability.
This role involves being a primary point of contact for internal teams like Network and Systems Engineers, as well as external service partners. You will work to meet SLAs for assigned trouble tickets, acting as the first line of support for hardware and technical issues. On-call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities are also part of the scope, requiring monitoring of data center infrastructure. You will participate in team meetings for metric analysis and goal achievement, and contribute to documentation and process improvement through root cause analysis.
We are seeking skilled Data Centre Operation Technicians passionate about technology to advance AWS Cloud offerings. A minimum of 2 years in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, coupled with at least 1 year of computer networking experience, is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is also a prerequisite.
This physically demanding role requires the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 18kg and may involve working in confined or elevated spaces, always adhering to health and safety guidelines. The position operates on a 24x7 shift rotation basis. Preferred qualifications include experience effectively managing customer interactions during problem resolution and performing efficiently under pressure.
