As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will play a vital part in expanding AWS Cloud offerings and managing the infrastructure that powers our services, including CloudFront. As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be instrumental in the maintenance and upkeep of data center infrastructure. Your duties will involve server rack installation, hardware repair and troubleshooting across various components, and resolving network issues. You will respond to emergent situations to ensure operational stability and act as a primary contact for internal teams and external service partners.
You will meet SLAs by addressing assigned trouble tickets through a directed workflow, serving as the first point of contact for hardware and technical issues. This role includes on-call duties and participation in scheduled maintenance and change management activities. You will contribute to metric analysis and goal achievement discussions, and possess a thorough understanding of departmental policies, procedures, safety, and security.
Furthermore, you will contribute to documentation by performing root cause analysis for operational issues and participate in process improvement initiatives. More experienced technicians will have opportunities to mentor less experienced team members. The position involves physical tasks, including lifting and racking equipment up to 18kg, and potentially working in confined or elevated spaces while adhering to health and safety guidelines. This role requires covering 24x7 shift rotations.
For this role, a minimum of 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair is required, alongside at least 1 year of computer networking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is essential.
