As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be instrumental in maintaining and upgrading data center infrastructure. Your duties include server rack installation, hardware break-fix across various components, and troubleshooting network issues. You'll also respond to emergent situations to ensure operational stability and serve as a primary point of contact for both internal teams and external service partners.
Responsibilities extend to meeting SLAs through efficient trouble ticket resolution and performing first-line hardware troubleshooting. This role involves on-call duties, participating in scheduled maintenance, and change management activities. You will contribute to metric analysis and goal achievement discussions in team meetings, possessing a strong understanding of departmental policies, procedures, safety, and security.
Additionally, you will document technical issues via root cause analysis and contribute to process improvements within the data center environment. More experienced technicians may mentor junior team members. The position requires physical capability, including lifting equipment up to 18kg, working in confined spaces, and at heights while adhering to health and safety guidelines, with a 24x7 shift rotation requirement.
To excel in this role, a minimum of 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair is essential, complemented by at least 1 year of computer networking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
