Seeking an experienced DBT/Snowflake Engineer to join our offshore development team. This role focuses on translating existing ETL processes into efficient dbt models on Snowflake, ensuring data quality and integrating with modern CI/CD practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL and dbt expertise, with a keen eye for data integrity and performance optimization.

Translate Informatica mappings and business logic into dbt models. Design and implement data layers (staging, core, mart) using dbt best practices. Develop and maintain comprehensive dbt tests for data quality assurance. Implement dbt features like snapshots, seeds, and macros for reusability. Collaborate with Snowflake developers to optimize data structures for dbt. Ensure functional equivalence between legacy and new data outputs. Participate in performance tuning of dbt models and Snowflake queries. Integrate dbt with CI/CD pipelines for automation. Contribute to documentation of dbt models and data lineage. Engage in defect analysis and bug fixing during migration and stabilization.

A minimum of 7 years in Data Engineering, ETL, or Data Warehousing, with at least 2 years specifically using dbt (Core or Cloud). Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, particularly with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses. Solid understanding of dbt concepts including models, tests, sources, seeds, snapshots, macros, and exposures. Familiarity with CI/CD principles and integrating dbt into automated workflows. Knowledge of data modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling, SCDs, and fact/dimension design. Experience in offshore delivery environments with onshore coordination is beneficial. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret existing ETL logic and requirements documentation.
