This role focuses on administering, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe databases, particularly Datacom and VSAM. You'll be instrumental in ensuring database availability, performance, and security. The position involves designing and implementing database schemas, performing tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Software Engineering community. This is a permanent position located in Pune.

Administer, maintain, and optimize mainframe databases, focusing on Datacom and VSAM. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all databases. Design, implement, and manage database schemas, tables, indexes, and other objects. Conduct database tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning. Monitor and manage database performance, executing regular maintenance tasks. Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues effectively. Develop and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including data models and architecture. Implement and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards. Collaborate with application developers to optimize database interactions and support development efforts. Ensure data integrity and consistency across all database systems. Perform regular backups and recovery operations to safeguard critical data. Stay abreast of emerging database technologies and industry best practices.

Minimum of 6 to 14 years of relevant experience in database administration. Proficiency in administering and optimizing Datacom and VSAM databases. Strong understanding of database performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies. Experience with database monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ability to design and implement database schemas and objects. Knowledge of data integrity principles and backup/recovery procedures. Excellent documentation skills, including data modeling and architecture. Familiarity with implementing database policies and standards. Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams.
