Join our Global Data Center Operations team as an IT Database Engineer. You will be responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing enterprise-grade database platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Ensure the performance, scalability, availability, and resilience of critical workloads while contributing to global standards and operational excellence. This role involves supporting 24/7 operations and acting as an escalation point for complex incidents.

This position is based in our Chennai office and requires a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Design, implement, and operate enterprise database platforms including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL across on-premises and cloud environments. Manage and optimize AWS RDS deployments, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience. Perform lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity planning. Automate provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform/CloudFormation and Ansible. Utilize GitLab for CI/CD pipelines and version control, scripting operational tooling in Python.

Support global initiatives such as data center modernization and cloud migration. Act as an escalation point for complex database incidents, performing root cause analysis. Collaborate with various infrastructure teams and maintain global documentation and operational standards. Participate in on-call and shift-based rotations for 24/7 operations.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in enterprise database engineering or large-scale production operations is required. Strong expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL, including performance tuning and high availability, is essential. Hands-on experience with AWS RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle/SQL Server) and proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform and CloudFormation are necessary. Solid experience with Ansible for automated configuration management and deployment, along with GitLab for CI/CD workflows, is crucial. Strong scripting skills in Python for operational tooling and automation are also required.

Familiarity with security, compliance, encryption, and backup standards is needed. The ability to work effectively in globally distributed teams with strong communication skills, including fluent English, is important. A 15-year full-time education is required for this role.
