We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer passionate about technology to elevate our AWS Cloud offerings. As a Data Centre Operation Technician, your core responsibility is maintaining and upgrading data center infrastructure. This includes server rack installation, hardware break-fix on various components, and troubleshooting network issues.
You will be a key contact for both internal teams like Network and Systems Engineers, and external partners such as hardware vendors and service providers. Your role involves meeting SLAs for trouble tickets, acting as the first point of contact for hardware and technical issues.
Participate in on-call rotations and data center operations, including scheduled maintenance and change management. You will contribute to team meetings for metric analysis and goal achievement. Uphold departmental policies, including safety and security protocols, and apply them appropriately.
Contribute to documentation through root cause analysis of operational issues and drive process improvements within the data center environment. More experienced technicians will have opportunities to mentor junior team members. This position operates on a 24x7 shift rotation.
We require a minimum of 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, alongside at least 1 year of experience in computer networking. A high school diploma or equivalent is also necessary.
Preferred qualifications include a proven ability to handle customer interactions effectively during problem resolution and to operate efficiently under pressure. We encourage applications from candidates with diverse experiences, even if you don't meet every preferred qualification.
