Serve as the principal operational resource for Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL), supporting our owned and operated Data Centers in India. This role demands broad data center knowledge and subject matter expertise across various fields. You will be the central point of accountability for the hands-on management of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure across our Indian Data Center portfolio.
Key responsibilities include the end-to-end ownership of Data Center changes, events, incidents, and problems, ensuring thorough investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution. You will oversee the planning and execution of maintenance and repairs for critical systems, manage asset and inventory, and develop essential technical documentation including standard operating procedures and emergency response plans. Furthermore, you will develop and deliver engineering reports, ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs, and provide hands-on support for equipment installation, decommissioning, and audits. This role also involves overseeing technical compliance and corrective action plans.
Additionally, you will manage information flow and provide regular updates during incidents, review incident reports, and offer recommended actions to management. This position requires 24x7 on-call support, scheduled weekend work, and rotational shifts. Opportunities may exist in various Indian locations.
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a data center or other critical environment is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is also a prerequisite.
Preferred qualifications include an additional 4+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical facilities. Extensive knowledge of critical electrical systems, such as utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, and battery monitoring systems, is highly valued. Familiarity with critical mechanical systems, including CRAC/CRAHs, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and piping systems, is also advantageous. Skills in technical writing and automation are beneficial for developing and maintaining operational documentation and best practices.
