This involves the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS data centers, ensuring the continuous availability of servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The team tackles complex challenges within a dynamic supply chain, seeking skilled individuals to contribute to this critical mission. Amazon is expanding its Data Center management team in India, with opportunities potentially available across multiple locations. This role within Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) demands comprehensive data center knowledge and subject matter expertise in various fields. The position acts as the primary operational resource for ADSIPL's owned and operated data centers in India.

Responsibilities

Take full ownership of all data center changes, incidents, and problems, overseeing investigations and root cause analysis. Ensure that maintenance and repairs for electrical and mechanical systems, as well as fire suppression, are strategically planned and executed for the business's benefit. Manage asset and inventory, and develop essential documentation including standard operating procedures and emergency response plans. Drive standardization with best-in-class practices through technical writing and automation. Prepare regular engineering reports, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Provide hands-on support for facility tasks such as equipment installation, decommissioning, and audits. Oversee technical compliance audits and ensure timely closure of corrective action plans. During incidents, manage information flow and provide regular updates to management. Review incident reports, document trends, and offer recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a data center or other critical environment is required. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is essential.

Preferred qualifications include 4+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical facilities like hospitals or public safety buildings. A strong understanding of electrical systems in critical data center operations is highly beneficial, encompassing areas such as utility feeds, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and monitoring systems. Familiarity with mechanical systems in critical data centers is also advantageous, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and duct systems.
