Job description

Join AWS Infrastructure Services to power the global cloud by ensuring the operation and maintenance of AWS data centers. You'll be part of a dynamic, diverse team contributing to the safety, security, and cost-effectiveness of our infrastructure. This role offers an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and empowers ownership.

Amazon is expanding its Data Center management team in India, seeking individuals with broad data center knowledge and Subject Matter Expertise (SME). This position, based within Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL), will be the primary operational resource for owned and operated data centers in India. Opportunities may exist in multiple Indian locations.

Responsibilities

You will be the primary operational resource responsible for the hands-on management of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) critical infrastructure across ADSIPL's data centers. This includes overseeing the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure supporting IT, managing events, incidents, problems, and changes. You will also be accountable for cost and contract management, as well as cultivating relationships with landlords, vendors, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities involve owning data center changes, events, incidents, and problems from initiation to resolution, including root cause analysis. You will ensure maintenance and repairs are executed optimally, manage assets and inventory, and develop essential documentation like SOPs and emergency response plans. Furthermore, you will drive standardization with best-in-class practices, deliver engineering reports, and provide hands-on facility support for equipment installation and decommissioning. Technical compliance auditing and timely closure of corrective actions are also crucial.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in data center or other critical environments. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.

Preferred qualifications include extensive experience in data center or mission-critical facilities, along with deep knowledge of complex electrical systems such as utility feeds, UPS, generators, and monitoring systems. Familiarity with mechanical systems including CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, and associated piping and ductwork is also highly valued. We encourage individuals with diverse career paths and experiences to apply.
